Annual Maj Gen John F. Curry Salute and Remembrance Ceremony

Come celebrate CAP’s founding at our first National Commander’s grave site in Ft Logan National Cemetery.

               Date:  2 December 2023 (rain, snow, cold, or shine)

               Time:  Sign in at 1000 hrs and the Ceremony Begins 1015 hrs

                Place:  Ft Logan National Cemetery – Shelter A – (see directions below)


CAP’s First National Commander, Maj Gen John F Curry is buried at Ft Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Gen Curry had many accomplishments contributing to the success of the Army Air Corps, the presence of military bases in Colorado, and as one of the founders of Civil Air Patrol. It’s only fitting that we recognize his accomplishments.  


At 1000 hrs on Saturday 2 Dec. 2023, we will conduct a ceremony at the graveside of Maj Gen John F. Curry.  This will be a short ceremony consisting of presentation of honored guests, Gen Curry’s biography, and graveside salute by cadets.  We will dismiss no later than 1100 hrs.

UNIFORM: Blues with service dress if you have it. Plan on being in the weather, and bring a coat.


This event will be held even if the weather is bad. All CAP members are welcome to attend!
